Explore Ruthie's

Ruthie's, located at 3532 SE Division St, Portland, OR 97202, is a food cart that has quickly gained attention for its elevated, wood-fired dishes. Featured on Netflix’s Somebody Feed Phil, it offers a unique blend of flavors and cooking techniques that make it a must-try when in the area. The menu is packed with delightful options, such as the rockfish sliders, which are praised for being light yet filling. The sliders are delicately seasoned with spice and flavor, and the mayo adds a layer of richness, perfectly complementing the dish's lightness. While some may feel that the price of the rolls ($9 for two) doesn't quite match their value, they still stand out as a worthy experience.

Ruthie’s stands out for its diverse selection, from fresh salads to expertly prepared meats. The cucumber salad, with its crunchy puffed grains and hint of pickled jalapeños, is a standout for many, adding a refreshing contrast to the richness of other dishes. For those who love unique pairings, the toast with hazelnuts and prosciutto, topped with whipped ricotta, has been a fan favorite, though the sweetness might not be for everyone. The pork chop, with its juicy, tender meat and a tomato reduction, has been highlighted as one of the restaurant’s best offerings, often described as better than what you might find at high-end restaurants.

In addition to the food, Ruthie's has a laid-back atmosphere with a bar and a sushi cart, perfect for a relaxed meal while sipping cocktails. The combination of fusion gastronomy and wood-fired technique creates a dining experience that is both creative and satisfying, making it a standout choice for anyone visiting Portland. Whether you're in the mood for something light, like a salad, or craving something hearty, like the pork chop, Ruthie’s offers a variety of dishes that will surely impress.

It’s no secret how good this place is. Menu has changed all 3 times we’ve been there besides the famous rolls and the slider. This is the fine dining of food carts. The pork shop is always perfectly cooked and the salads are so unique and flavorful. I highly recommend this spot to anyone plus the bar next door has good drinks to pair.

I found this place thanks to Netflix's Somebody Feed Phil. It did not disappoint. The meal was perfectly executed. I had the rockfish sliders, which were delicate, seasoned with some spice and flavor. The mayo gave an extra bit of fattiness to meld the flavors well. It's light yet filling. You won't miss the fact that it isn't fried. Do yourself a favor and order yourself one The rolls, although delicious, I feel lacked the value for the price point($9 for two). Great to try once but would I order again, probably not. The wood fired niche of this food cart, with elevated dishes, makes this a must try if in the Portland area.

I saw Ruthie's on a couple Netflix food shows. It was one of the many reasons I was excited to eat while I visited Portland. It did not disappoint. The food was fantastic and the staff was even better. Can't wait to return!

We heard about Ruthie's on ' Somebody Feed Phil.' It didn't disappoint... delicious! We had the Rick fish sliders and the potatoes. Grandma's rolls were hot and fresh. Nice outdoor seating tucked away in a back alley.

Discovered this food cart thanks to Netflix’s “somebody feed Phil” tried the bread rolls and the pork chops, very impressed with both, the pork chop was amazing, better than a fancy restaurant, juicy meat and the reduction on top was amazing. There is a Sushi food cart and a bar so we sit down at the bar and ordered cocktails and vegetable tempura along with the pork chops and the bread. Fusion gastronomy!

Got the rolls and rock fish slider. Both were pretty good. I'm not sure if I'd go out of my way for them. The rolls are only good with the butter and jam, otherwise they cannot stand on their own, lack flavor. The slider was pretty decent little snack.
